What a busy week we have had in Team Topaz!
In Maths, we have been revising and securing methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for whole numbers and decimals using column and bus-stop methods. In English, we have started work on our new book, 'Night of the Gargoyles' and have written descriptive sentences with conjunctions, sentences in the passive voice and sentences with relative clauses to describe what happens.
In Science this week, we found out how you can measure light levels in Lux with a datalogger and found out what material blocked light the best. In PSHE, we set ourselves stretching targets for the year and designed an inspirational flag to help us keep going while we try to achieve them. In Computing, we found out about symbols that help us to stay safe online and in French, we found out the words for sports in French. In RE, we compared Buddhist beliefs to Christian beliefs and created a tree to represent what we had found out about Buddhism. In History, we found out about the causes of World War 2 and what countries were involved. We coloured in a world map to show which countries were on the allied side, those the axis side, those that were occupied and those that were neutral.
Next week in Maths, we will be learning a method for dividing by 2-digit numbers and how to calculate with negative numbers. In English, we will be writing a story based on the book, 'Night of the Gargoyes'. We will also be carrying on with all our other topics.
We hope you have a safe and happy weekend, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
