Hi everyone, it has been another great week for Year 3. As usual we have been extremely busy with our learning.

In maths, we started the week comparing decimal numbers, then moved on to converting cm and metres. We followed on from this comparing and converting mixed units. We are now able to convert grams to kilograms, millilitres to litres and metres to kilometres.

In English this week, we have started our new topic - Adventures. We really enjoyed reading about Winnie the Pooh, the history of the stories and some of the adventures that he went on. We have created character descriptions, setting descriptions and worked together to create our own class adventure story. Next week, we will be planning and creating our own stories. We are quite excited about it, as we have already gathered lots of great ideas.

In Science this week, we investigated which materials were reflective. We compared our findings, then designed new school bags, with a focus on using a reflective material.

In RE this week we learned about ultimate and non-ultimate questions, and the differences between these types of questions before practising some examples. After practising some example questions to gain understanding of both types, we then answered the following: ‘Can you come up with an ultimate question?’ We then voted as a class on which question we would like to discuss further if appropriate.

The best part of our week was making the Lotus Flowers out of clay in our Art lessons. We apologise for any residual clay that may have remained on our t-shirts, but oh, what fun we had! We can't wait for them to dry, so we can paint them.

That's all for this week. We hope you have a super weekend.
