This week has been assessment week. We have completed lots of questions based on problems and used different texts to retrieve, explain and infer. We have realised that managing our time is quite important and that we can further develop our resilience. Next week we will be back to learning how to balance an argument in English and, in maths, we will be learning how to read timetables, converting between analogue and digital clocks and working out the duration of events.
In art, we started our masterpiece in the style of Kandinsky, using the different mediums of paper, chalk pastels or watercolours. We will finish them off next week. In science, we looked at the life cycle of mammals and compared this to the life cycle of an amphibian. In English and geography, we looked at how tourism can affect an area and how this can be beneficial and also negative. This will help us next week in our English work.
In R.E. we continued to look at ultimate questions and how religions are able to answer them. We have started a new unit in music, listening to a new song that is from the pop genre and deciding its tempo, rhythm, structure and finding the pulse. We will return to this song throughout the term, eventually learning how to sing and play the glockenspiel parts. In PSHE, we looked at how to increase our self-esteem, turning negative viewpoints into positive ones.
PE days are Monday and Wednesday each week.
